Mercia Police are linking the offences to seven burglaries in the
Pershore area, Wyre Piddle and Drakes Broughton between Monday, November
5 and Thursday, December 6.
Detective Inspector Richard Rees,
of Worcester CID’s Proactive Team, said: “We have seen a serious
escalation of the number of offences in this series and for peaceful
areas like Worcester and Wychavon to experience so many in one day is
very unusual.
“The offences started off around Pershore and the
area of offending seems to be widening, along the A4538 from Evesham to
north Worcester.”

properties who saw anything suspicious on Saturday evening to contact

“Many of these burglaries seem to have taken place in the
evening when homeowners left their homes unoccupied and in darkness
when they have gone out, for example, shopping, out for the evening or
are away visiting friends and family.
“It is important residents
do what they can to protect their properties while they are away, even
for a short time. Most burglaries are carried out by opportunistic

Yesterday

Two women in their 30s were arrested in Droitwich on suspicion of theft
after a resident in Tagwell Road saw them trying car doors at 12.30am
on Tuesday.
