A male accountant accused of slitting a female compatriot’s throat
with a knife and fleeing with jewellery admitted to charges of
premeditated murder and theft in court on Monday.
The suspect
AM, 28, appeared at the Dubai Criminal Court over the premeditated
murder of MS, an Indian saleswoman, on the morning of Sept.26 last year,
in a studio apartment on the sixth floor of a residential complex in
Rifa’a area.
“He had bought a knife, gloves and duct tape from a
supermarket downstairs,” prosecutors told Judge Wajdi Ibrahim Al
Minyawi. They demanded the death sentence for AM.
AM had
reportedly gone to her apartment asking for the receipt of a washing
machine he had bought from her a year ago. He claimed he wanted to take
the machine for repairs.

Additional
District and Sessions Judge Rajesh Garg on Monday handed down life
sentence to one of the accused in the 2009 robbery case involving P C

charges were framed against Rohit Khasa of Baroda, Sonepat, Manju of
Pandupandra, Jind, Sudhir Mann of Maham Rohtak, Rajesh of Jhajjar and
Sandeep Dahiya of Narela, Delhi, as well besides the four accused. While
one of them has died, the rest have been let off.
As per the
earlier charges framed against Amit Yadav, Pawan Saini, Sunil alias
Leela, Sunder alias Kala and Rajesh alias Badri, they were charged with
committing robbery at the jewellery shop on January 27, 2009 and were
booked under Section 395 of the IPC. The incident had happened around
10.45 pm. They were also charged with using the "deadly weapons'' to
commit the robbery. The district court had earlier held that the four
accused belonged to a gang of people habitual of committing dacoity.
