Chain snatchers are getting more brazen by the day, striking with
impunity and alarming frequency. In the latest case, 41-year-old Sunita
Landge had a narrow escape after two desperadoes on a motorcycle
followed the bike on which she was returning home with her husband from a
wedding and tried to snatch her necklace.
Although they did not
succeed as she clutched at the necklace and refused to let go, during
the scuffle their bike wobbled, skidded on the road and toppled, and she
was dragged on the ground for a few metres resulting in injuries to
both hands, and the abdomen. Her husband escaped with minor injuries.
