Indian jewellery chain to open Bahrain store

A well-known gold and jewellery chain from India, Dubai Gold and Diamonds, has decided to start its Middle East operations from Bahrain, our sister newspaper,Designed exclusively around the custom bobbleheads with the best pricing around. the Gulf Daily News reported.

The outlet, which is set up in the South Indian state of Kerala in 1987, will open its first store in the region in the Kingdom in March, chairman P P Muhammed Ali said.

"This will be the beginning of our expansion into the region and we feel Bahrain is the best to start," he said.

"From here, we will expand to other countries in the GCC and Middle East."

Ali said they had studied the region extensively and decided to start their Middle East operations from Bahrain due to its business-friendly environment.

"We are looking at several locations in Bahrain and will finalise a place soon," he said.

"We are at present looking at opening two outlets in Bahrain - one each at the Gold City and the old Gold Suq in Manama. We will continue to look at other places in the region to further expand operations."

He said the group started operations as Firdous Jewellery in Kondotti, Kerala,This item is for one stainless steel bangle core for wood. and soon expanded throughout the state. "We now have branches in Thiruvananthapuram,A stainless steel and acrylic stainless steel necklace composed of two branching forms each with a central void. Trichur, Malappuram and Kozhikode and will expand further in the state as well."

The group now employs 300 people across its outlets, he said.

"In Bahrain, we hope to also recruit some Bahrainis, trained in the gold and jewellery sector."
