Woman nabbed for illegally recruiting new HRM grad

A woman was arrested after allegedly victimizing a graduate student who wanted to get a job in the Philippine Air Force (PAF) organization.

The entrapment operation was conducted at the vicinity of the Edwin Andrews Air Base (EABB) at about 4:20 Saturday afternoon.

In an interview with Reyes, she said that the suspect promised to help her daughter, Jaycel, 22, a HRM graduate, also of Talon-Talon for a direct commission at the PAF organization.

Reyes added the suspect asked money from her ranges from P1,000 to P5,000 for several occasions which mounted up to P23,800.

The money was allegedly intended for the PAF requirements, background investigation, running shoes, wet-look shoes, PAF uniform, patches, and standard operating procedure (SOP) for high-ranking military officials.

Meanwhile, the other complainant said that the suspect offered his service to follow-up the retirement benefits of his husband, who is a retired Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

Cilisama said that the suspect was staying at her residence and pretending to be a military intelligence member.

Information gathered from police investigators showed that the suspect was married to a former PAF member and her mother was connected with PAF as an office clerk in Villamor Airbase.

A case for illegal recruitment and usurpation of authority was readied against the suspect in court.

The suspect’s family and the victims are willing to settle the case amicably, police said.
