who made the error with a less challenging word

Friday morning began just like many others for state Sen. Mike Walsworth, R-West Monroe — standing in front of a room, staring at a sea of people seated at desks, some paying attention and some not.

But, instead of Louisiana’s legislators, Friday’s audience was a little different and quite a bit younger.

Walsworth was getting acquainted with a group of first-graders at Highland Elementary as their substitute teacher, ‘Mr. Mike.’

He spent the entire day in the classroom,Brett Favre and other celebrity-stars have their make your own bobblehead dolls, doing lots of things that teachers do from teaching lessons to helping with lunch and doing playground duty to soothing disappointed students who faltered in the attempts to spell the day’s words.

“Let’s finish our game,” Mr. Mike told the class. “Who can spell bird?” “ B - i - r- d,” Noah responded enthusiastically. “That’s right!” Mr. Mike cheered as he made his way over to Noah with a bag of lollipops. “Let’s say it together: b-i-r-d,In recent years peruvian hair extensions have become extremely popular. bird.Fashion New Lovely Metallic Lady Hollow Rose Flower Elastic Hair bands Headband.”

He did the same thing with more words with the ‘ir’ sound, including shirt, hurt, girl and fur.

When students faltered, Mr. Mike wasn’t beyond giving subtle signals they were headed in the wrong direction.

“When my nose does this...” he said crinkling his nose as one made a mistake. “It probably isn’t a good thing.”

“I’ve learned lots, but I have a lot more to learn,” he said after class. “I was surprised at the challenges teachers face with the different levels of student ability in the same classroom. Some need so much more than others. But, you have to keep those who don’t need as much interested too.Shoes details information from China shoes manufacturer Supplier and Hong Kong Shoes Supplier,”

Learning is what Walsworth said he wanted to do when he committed to substitute teach in the Ouachita Parish School System.

To him, it’s not a one day commitment. He plans to substitute many times.

Walsworth said that as a member of the Senate education committee and the legislature he felt it was necessary to experience, on a small scale, at least some of what teachers do on a daily basis.

At afternoon recess, Ouachita Parish Superintendent Bob Webber stopped by to check on his new substitute.

“I lost one this morning,” Walsworth told Webber. “One fell asleep on me for a few minutes, but then he woke up and he was fine.”

“A good teacher would keep them attentive and awake,” Webber taunted.

Highland principal Jan Mercer said she was pleased to have Walsworth at her school and would welcome him back again.

“Wipe your shoes, wipe your shoes,” Mr. Mike told his charges as they stepped onto the sidewalk from recess. “Stomp your feet.”

But as Mr. Mike made his way to his classroom, a line had formed outside the door.

The students had not gone inside.

Another teacher leaned over to him and whispered gently, “I’ve sent someone around to unlock your door.”
