We are proud to be part of such a successful

On a historic night, Rip Curl and Uluwatu Surf Villas successfully raised over $18,000 for local environmental organization Project Clean Uluwatu (PCU) during their surf memorabilia auction on Saturday. The total amount raised includes proceeds from auction items, raffle tickets, food and beverage sales, entrance fees, and donations.

Over 300 guests attended the auction fundraiser,Matco Packaging Llc suppliers of BOPP tape, expertly hosted by SurfTime Magazine Editor-In-Chief Matt George, and held at the beautiful Uluwatu Surf Villas overlooking the Indian Ocean. All proceeds from the auction will help fund PCU clean-up projects and environmental initiatives at world-famous Uluwatu beach, one of the planet's most iconic surf spots.

Specifically, the money raised at last weekend's fundraiser will go directly towards the completion of an 18-cubic meter bio-digester waste water tank to manage all the liquid waste from the many local warungs lining the cliffs at Uluwatu. The tank will sit in a protective housing alongside the lowest point of the Uluwatu riverbed, so that all the warungs can hook into it by gravity.Scotch No base material double sided tape Products with Dispenser you need for home office or business. The fundraiser money will also go towards installing the central plumbing links for all the warungs as well as individual grease traps in each of the 20 or more warungs with kitchens.

"Installation of the waste water tank should be finished by the end of October, weather dependent," said PCU committee member Ollie Crowell. "The next phase is installing all the pumps and creating a waste water garden for the processed water, so no more liquid waste can pool up in the riverbed."

Crowell noted how important the Rip Curl and Uluwatu Surf Villas fundraiser was for PCU's ongoing cleanup work at Uluwatu, in terms of both funding and support from the local community.

"This was incredibly important since PCU is operating by piecemeal and the contractors were due for another payment," he said.We offer a great selection of women's boots and ladies shoes wholesale. "This new funding will get us into the final phase of the waste water treatment system before the rainy season starts, when it becomes impossible to build in that riverbed. The tank is big enough to sustain an average of 500 visitor per day, and if we need more than that in the future, it's easy to add another tank next to it."

With Uluwatu beach reaching critical mass with surfers and tourists during the current high season in Bali, moving the liquid waste system at Uluwatu forward into the final stages is crucial.

"All the engineering is super basic and has been proven successful many times over all around the world," said Crowell. "It's just been slow getting people to trust in us initially and then join with us. But we now have all the local Uluwatu beach warung owners' support and they all contribute each month towards the solid waste collection and recycling system we put in place two years ago. They are empowered and amping to get the liquid waste treatment system finished ASAP. When it's all complete,Forward wholesale fashion shoes sold by the case for your stores and boutiques. this will be a model for all beaches in Indonesia suffering the same pollution woes, and it will be that much easier to repeat in the future."

The PCU fundraiser proved to be one of the highlights of the first two weeks of the Rip Curl Cup Invitational waiting period. The evening featured live music from Andy Six String,Worldwide leader in PET protective film Products and Coated Papers. DJs, catered food, and full bar service, including Hatten wine, Smirnoff Ice and Bintang. Guests were also treated to a series of short films from this year's Ombak Bali International Surf Film Festival. Several of the surfers competing in this year's Rip Curl Cup Invitational were on hand as well.

"We are proud to be part of such a successful event to help preserve Uluwatu," said Rip Curl Southeast Asia's James Hendy. "The auction was a huge success, both in raising money for PCU's critical eco projects at Uluwatu and in raising awareness about the work PCU is doing to protect this legendary surf spot."

The dining rooms have white walls

I have much respect for chefs who have mastered the art of French culinary techniques. The use of fresh, in-season ingredients, properly reduced sauces, the right touch of seasonings and eye appeal are just a few on the list.

Chef Adán Saavedra, who is from Mexico, decided to marry the flavors of his native land with French technique when he opened Paloma in Northeast Philly about 13 years ago. He is dedicated to haute cuisine and food fads be damned.

He moved Paloma to Bella Vista right across the street from Cucina Forte. I don’t know why I never reviewed Paloma, so a visit was in order.

A bubbly woman met me at the door and we chatted about the rain while Edward found a parking spot. Since the restaurant is quite dark, she asked our server to seat us near the window.

Paloma is lovely. The dining rooms have white walls, colorful artwork and fresh yellow roses that set off the crisp white linen and modern flatware.

The restaurant features a three-course dinner Tuesday through Thursday, but Edward and I decided to order from the la carte menu. Our server opened the French burgundy we brought, wrapped it in a napkin and poured us a taste in a most professional manner.

A hot-from-the-oven loaf of bread from a Portuguese bakery in Newark, N.J. kept us happy. It was served with a small mound of whipped sour cream piped from a pastry bag. A small dish of hot chili sauce with a demi-tasse spoon arrived and we were urged to be careful. It was quite hot.

We began dinner with corn chowder ($9.50) and crab ceviche ($12.50). The soup was rich, bursting with fresh corn, potatoes, onions, red peppers, poblano and ancho chilis. It was prepared with a homemade vegetable stock and topped with baby shrimp. Saavedra achieved the perfect balance of heat and flavor in this tasty bowl.

French technique was apparent in his ceviche presentation. Jumbo lump crabmeat was marinated in lime juice, olive oil, shallots, jalapeno and cilantro and placed atop a round stack of sliced red ripe tomato and avocado. The ceviche lacked acid. A true ceviche is made with raw fish that is “cooked” in lemon or lime juice. Still, it was a cool and pleasant way to begin dinner. All it required was a sprinkling of salt.Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server.

Unfortunately, our entrees went south. Edward ordered the branzino ($23) and I looked forward to breast of duck ($25).

To the best of my knowledge, branzino is not eaten in Mexico or France. It is a Mediterranean fish that must be cooked on the bone to impart a rich flavor. Saavedra filleted the fish and baked it in the oven along with capers and olives and finished it with a tomato Serrano chili sauce. It was bland and arrived lukewarm. A round stack of cool mashed potatoes were set on a few sauteed spinach leaves. Mashed potatoes, or pomme puree, is a French invention. They must be whipped into submission with lots of butter. This version fell flat.

My duck was prepared with a boneless, skinless duck breast. No chef would remove the skin from a duck before cooking it. This was the first problem. Before the skinned duck was seared, it was stuffedwith caramelizes shallots, wrapped in bacon and roasted in the oven. The result was a dry overcooked breast of duck, which took on an unpleasant gray hue. A pyramid-shaped bit of rice topped with a few pencil-thin asparagus sat on the plate. The duck was lukewarm and the rice mix cold.

Our understanding waiter offered me another entrée. I ordered the rib-eye steak medium-rare ($23). A rib-eye is an oval-shaped steak, rich with marbling and adorned with the “lip,” the most tender part, which surrounds the meat. I have never seen one shaped like a rectangle. I am not sure this was a rib-eye because there was no marbling and no lip. It was a tender cut and was topped with chopped black trumpet mushrooms. The aforementioned cool potatoes and spinach sat on the plate.

Dessert fared a bit better. A hefty slice of homemade, rich and flavorful chocolate-orange cake iced with a tasty chocolate ganache and filled with chocolate/mocha buttercream redeemed a fairly disappointing dinner.

when I learned of her quest for equal pay at Wimbledon

State Superintendent Janet Barresi announced Monday that she is withdrawing Oklahoma from testing through a consortium of 20 or so other states to coincide with the new Common Core curriculum standards.

Instead of using new assessments developed through the group, called the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, or PARCC, Oklahoma will work with a testing company to develop its own new standardized tests for the 2014-15 academic year.

“We came to this decision after many months of deliberation, listening to classroom teachers, curriculum directors, superintendents and visiting with legislative leadership and the governor’s office,” Barresi told the Tulsa World.

Many educators and parents groups have been vocal in recent months about their concern about the additional hours of test-taking that would be involved in PARCC assessments.

Barresi said their concerns, along with her own about the technology readiness of the state’s public schools and higher anticipated costs, were her three primary reasons for backing out.

She said the vast majority of technical problems that public schools experienced with online testing this spring are proof that Oklahoma just does not yet have the capacity for the volume of online testing required for PARCC tests.

And she added, many schools don’t have the expertise or funds to improve connectivity, increase bandwith, and add enough more more devices to get caught up by 2014-15.

“If we move ahead with this,The smart card has a memory chip embedded in it that, we are going to be asking the state to drink a milkshake using a cocktail straw,” Barresi said.

“If you look at what happened with testing this year — kids getting screen frozen, knocked off the test — those were technical issues that were from the districts’ end of things. (The testing vendor) crashed for two days because of server problems, but almost every bit of the rest of it was due to district issues. I’m not pointing fingers, but it is the reality.”

Through the PARCC alliance, Oklahoma and 21 other states and one U.S.Find great deals on Mens Surgical stainless steel earring, territory had banded together to develop a new set of K-12 standardized tests in English, language arts, literacy and math.

PARCC received a $186 million grant through the U.S. Department of Education’s Race to the Top competition to support the development and design of this “next-generation” assessment system.

Sherry Fair, a state education spokeswoman, said Barresi will be consulting with Gov. Mary Fallin's office about whether Oklahoma should remain as a participating state in PARCC, so that it can still have access to their information and expertise, or withdraw as a member in the consortium all together.

Oklahoma needs new tests to coincide with its implementation of new curriculum standards, called the Common Core State Standards.

The Common Core State Standards initiative is a states-led effort to provide curriculum standards that are consistent throughout the country, beginning with English and math. Oklahoma is among 45 states and three U.S. territories that adopted the standards.

Venus Williams is walking toward me -- with beautiful braids! Long braids intertwined with red and blue ribbon to commemorate her fourth Olympics as a competing athlete. Venus Williams is tall and regal! Six feet and one inch of graceful agility with big brown eyes and perfect teeth. Venus Williams is nice! Warm and welcoming as I begin to interview her at her estate in Palm Beach, Florida on a balmy summer day in 2012. I'll always remember this, the first time I met Venus Williams. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't glitzy. It was just like she is -- low-key and lovely. Yep,Find great deals on Mens Surgical stainless steel earring, I remember it like it was yesterday.

Making a documentary on a little known part of her career -- focused on her activism and feminism around the issue of pay equality -- I feel like I know her. We all do. At least we think we do. The trailblazing, groundbreaker who catapulted onto the national scene at the tender age of 14. A disrupter of the best kind who made the establishment take notice -- often against their will. A girl from Compton who would become an international icon. But there is much more.

I admit that I'm not a huge sports fan in general. But when ESPN approached me to direct a documentary for their upcoming Nine for IX series focused on women's sports, I started to think about sports personalities or moments that meant something to me. As a fellow Comptonite, I've always had a special homegirl affection for Venus, always watching with interest, always cheering her on. I think many in my community felt connected to her in that way. Early on, she was clearly portrayed as an outsider within the sport - for her beads, for her style of play, for her demeanor, for her grunting, for whatever was out of the ordinary. And let's face it: she was anything but ordinary. Those outsider moments had a particular resonance with me. I felt a protective pride in this young woman. So when I learned of her quest for equal pay at Wimbledon, I saw a story of someone on the outside who became the ultimate insider. A woman once maligned and misunderstood who soared and succeeded to the point of being a savior for the wildly important cause of equal pay in tennis.

Until just 2007, male and female champions at Wimbledon were paid unequally. Venus, following in the footsteps of the great Bille Jean King, didn't like that - and worked to do something about it. Along with key executives at the Women's Tennis Association, she executed a multi-pronged strategy including private negotiations and public appeals to overturn the decades old practice of compensating women champions with less prize money than their male counterparts. My latest film for ESPN, VENUS VS, explores Venus' rise as an unlikely leader for this cause and the tactical efforts to equalize the Wimbledon prize. It's a remarkable story that has been untold until now.Uline stocks a wide selection of double sided tape. And I am thrilled that we got the chance to share this important part of her career. It's vital that we speak these truths and make sure they are heard.

When we are young girls growing up -- whether in Compton, London or Bangladesh -- we often see women around us doing things that we think are big, that we think are important. And some of us wonder if we'll ever have a chance to do something as significant in our own lives. Venus' story simply shows that standing up for ourselves in any instance - whether to our family, friends or the establishment, whether in the workplace or in our community - is a thing that can change our worlds. It doesn't have to be on the international stage. Anywhere will do. Venus Williams was a young girl who just wanted to play tennis and to be the best. That alone might have been enough. But when given the chance to fight for something even larger than herself, to stand up for what was right, to change minds - she had the courage and conviction to do just that. Definitely a story worth telling. Definitely a story worth remembering.

The objective of Metafor is to build a product

Metafor Software helps organizations track unexpected changes happening in the system environment. It provides alerts when anomalies occur, so that users can take action immediately when inconsistencies occur that could result in errors or even downtime. The system automatically sends the report of the analyses, which can be automatically scheduled at any interval, to an email address. This will allow DevOps staff to the anomalies happening so immediate action can be taken.

The patent-pending algorithms of Metafor Software, which apply machine learning, enables the anomaly detection engine to monitor server configuration drifts across the cloud as well as inside data centres on premises. Metafor Software focuses on performance troubleshooting and application diagnostics to protect infrastructure from failing. At the moment they are also testing to find behavioral anomalies in addition to environment anomalies within the system. The behavioral anomaly detection functionality is currently in Alpha.

The big data startup was founded in 2010 by Jenny Yang, a former Senior Director at BDC Venture Capital, and Dr. Toufic Boubez, a serial entrepreneur and former Chief Architecture Web Services at IBM. Since April 2013 they have started providing their services as a free public beta. The Canadian company,Quality Brand Name tungsten ring and Tungsten Wedding Bands for Men. based in Vancouver, is one of a kind in the big data industry with their automated diagnostics instead of the common manual troubleshooting.

Since they were founded they have won several awards for their solution. In 2010 Metafor won the Generator Challenge – a competition created to recognize Vancouver’s most promising early-stage technology companies. In 2013 they were listed on the 2013 ICT Emerging Rockets list, as part of the Ready to Rocket recognition program. They were nominated because of the growing market opportunity, unique competitive position and must-have value proposition.

In the growing world of big data,a high quality women shoes supplier including high heel shoes, where the data infrastructure and network environment keep growing due to the ever-increasing amount of data, anomaly detection will become increasingly important in the coming years. Metafor’s machine learning technique that is capable of learning system behaviour patterns will therefore have a lot of potential in the near future. They have received seed capital from Vanedge Capital, GrowthWorks and several Angels. The objective of Metafor is to build a product that can not only detect anomalies but also normalize them with a single click. An ambitious goal, but we believe they are on the right track. Therefore we give them a 7 bits rating.

In many ways, the National Security Agency's new data center is the quintessential black box.

Much as the $1.selection of wholesale fashion shoes such as sandals.5 billion Utah building’s opaque exterior walls and dark windows obscure its contents, the powerful National Security Agency puts vast resources into hiding the gargantuan trove of secret intelligence and supercomputers to be stored inside.

The NSA’s thousands of spies,Shop the best selection of men's stainless steel ring. analysts and support staff are the U.S. military’s lead intelligence collectors. Created in 1952, the agency is charged with intercepting foreign communications, cracking codes, helping track down terrorists and defending U.S. interests against cyberattacks.

Beyond saying it is a series of data farms, agency officials haven’t detailed their plans for the center in the Salt Lake City suburb of Bluffdale, Utah, scheduled to be fully operational this fall.

But a sharper picture of what is likely to go on within its walls has come into focus with recently leaked documents on NSA surveillance, combined with prior revelations, building specifics, information from defense contractors and hints dropped by top NSA brass.

The Utah Data Center spans 1 million square feet, with a 100,000-square-foot, raised-floor area divided into four separate data halls, each holding what the NSA calls "mission-critical" computing servers and data-storage capacity. An additional 900,000 square feet will be devoted to technical support and administrative staff, amounting to fewer than 200 NSA employees.

The entire facility is heavily fortified by a robust security perimeter, its own police force, intrusion-detection systems, backup generators with three days of fuel storage and a structure designed to withstand major physical attack. It will need an average of 65 megawatts of electricity to run what several NSA equipment suppliers say will be among the most sophisticated supercomputers and largest reserves of data storage on the planet.

The Bluffdale site helps meet the NSA’s computing demands well into the future, according to Harvey Davis, NSA director of installations and logistics.

"I always build everything expandable," Davis said in an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune. And thanks to Utah’s relatively low utility rates and other favorable conditions, he said, "We’re getting the biggest bang for our buck right there."

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The recent series of guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has had a major impact on gold imports. While supply to the domestic industry has virtually come to a halt, very few banks are delivering gold for exports. Being the key raw material for jewellery manufacturing, your creative source for silicone bracelet business cards with your specialized. gold’s unavailability for domestic supply is set to reduce volume of sales and, therefore, business of the company. To avoid a free fall in their top line and bottom line, jewellers have adopted a series of innovative strategies to keep supply of gold intact.

For example, Gitanjali Gems has started focusing more on export business that comprises 50 per cent of their annual turnover. The ongoing depreciation in the rupee would also get the company more from their business abroad.Transportation custom keychain Applications Ceremony.

“Our presence in the US, Japan, West Asia and China is very strong. We want to increase business abroad by at least 25 per cent despite unfavourable economic environment through innovative designs and cuts depending on requirements of the specific occasions. We plan to increase our store presence in these locations, which have a positive outlook and have grown by nearly 15 per cent in the last one year,” said Mehul Choksi, chairman and managing director, Gitanjali Group.

Additionally, the company plans to raise diamond jewellery sales that have a better value addition of 25-30 per cent. Though this change in category mix will have an impact on sales, the margins are expected to not only remain intact, but also be better than estimates.

GOLD traders yesterday hit back at claims they turned a four-day business trip to Las Vegas into a junket.

It follows allegations that representatives from 12 Bahrain jewellery firms wasted government money and spent more time gambling than working at the JCK Las Vegas Jewellery Exhibition.

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) was reportedly flooded with e-mails making false claims against the participating traders.

"We took part in one of the biggest exhibitions in the world and are disappointed with all these rumours and misinformation spread by some groups targeting us," said businessman Sajid Al Shaikh.

Bahrain was the first country in the Middle East to take part in the premier exhibition and it was organised by the BCCI in co-operation with Tamkeen.

"Tamkeen through the BCCI gave about BD50,000 for the delegation to attend the exhibition," said Mr Al Shaikh.

"They have all the records stating everything.

"On the other hand each delegate spent about BD80,000 from their own pockets for air tickets, hotels, logistics, insurance on their jewellery,we know the value of kapton tape. brochures for their products that were showcased and expenses of their staff."

Critics claimed only 10 people visited the Bahrain stall during the exhibition and blamed it on poor design, decor and location of its stalls.

But Mr Al Shaikh said only those who participated were in a position to know whether the visit was successful or not.

"Some people want to spread their propaganda and say that a lot of money was wasted," he said.

"For God sake,Cheap custom printed logo USB flash drives wholesale at wholesale bulk prices. we represented Bahrain in one of the most prestigious events globally.

"All these claims targeted at us that we resorted to gambling are wrong and has disappointed the gold and pearl traders, who took part in the exhibition.

"We are part of the more than BD200 million gold and pearl industry in Bahrain who took part and showed the international community that everything is fine in our business-friendly Bahrain."

Mr Shaikh also criticised the BCCI for not coming out in the open and debunking the claims made against the traders.

"We stated our concerns to BCCI officials about this whole issue and there has been no response from them," he said.

"It shows their step-motherly treatment towards the gold and pearl sector, which is unfair.

"All of us want what is good for Bahrain and as traders actively working on this, if we get criticised for no reason it is really disappointing."

Businessman Mohammed Al Mahmood, owner of Al Mahmood Pearls, also denied the exhibition had not proved successful.

"This was a great exposure especially for us pearl traders and we showcased some of our collections that received a good response from American wholesalers," he said.

Mr Al Mahmood said he spends BD100,000 a year on floor space for stalls in exhibitions held in Bahrain and critics complaining about BD50,000 for 12 delegates taking part in the exhibition was out of order.

Allowing the TV to view the viewer gives advertisers

Xbox's Kinect marketing slogan has, until now, been: "You are the controller." For the upcoming Xbox One Kinect, that line may as well read: "You are the key to unlocking your media rights."

Microsoft wants to make consumers' access to digital services conditional not just on conventional upfront payment but also on their actual presence in front of TV.

By having their internet connection checked daily and by being monitored through Kinect's sensors, an Xbox user's body could become his or her access pass to online content. But, in a world shaken by Prism surveillance revelations, is it less likely consumers will consent to this kind of at-home observation?

Some gamers are creeped out that all Xbox Ones must go online every day to comply with a liberal new set of rights the console grants users to play games on their friends' consoles and to play previously-used titles. Even offline games will be blocked without a daily check-in.

In a recently-published patent, the Kinect camera would monitor that users are dutifully watching TV programming or advertising all the way through, incentivising them for doing so with rewards like money-off coupons or online virtual goods.

Another patent would forbid the playback of certain content like movies when Kinect's camera identifies too many viewers in the room.

All such techniques depend on physically-identified presence to qualify for access. And you can see why Microsoft would want to introduce these techniques. Allowing the TV to view the viewer gives advertisers specific certainty over their investment, supports bodily engagement in ads and lets viewers earn badges for viewing entire series. Counting living room occupants before a film can play back effectively introduces a "per-user" license to at-home media downloads, allowing studios to charge individual feesFull service promotional company specializing in Custom USB flash drives. at home in the same way they do in cinemas. Whilst that sounds like a raw deal, it could bring Hollywood blockbusters to living rooms on the same day as theatrical release.

But Microsoft, data from whose online services including Skype has reportedly been snooped by the US National Security Agency,We offer ownfigurine dolls hand-sculpted from any photo. must now tread very carefully before going ahead. If depictions of the "Prism" spy programme are accurate, then it necessarily raises the fearful prospect that the US government could monitor people in their homes via the new Kinect camera.

This, of course, sounds so paranoid as to be fantastical. But then, the idea of a global government network slurping internet communications might have been considered fanciful before the recent reports.where cards are embedded with chip card and a cardholder. And even the most over-stated perception of wrongdoing is all that matters in the consumer mindset.

Prism could change the whole privacy environment when it comes to users' tolerance for online monitoring. As consumers, users have poured self-identifying data of unimaginable quantities in to the databases of commercial operators with remarkable degrees of comfort, creating billion-dollar companies.Ladies and girlstrims no appointment needed! But, as citizens, users baulk the moment state actors like governments are believed to have acquired the same data.

Digital services must now operate in a post-Prism landscape in which consumers have a keener sense of the worst-case distribution scenario for their private data. For consumers now,A plastic IC card containing a computer chip and enabling. the unfortunate current reality is that the private data they entrust to a select few may very well end up somewhere unintended, even as their trusted parties deny ever passing it on.

It is an issue already grappled with by the utilities industry, which is keen to implement smart energy meters that send real-time consumption data back to headquarters but which is battling network security professionals' worry that the patterns in such data could leave unoccupied homes open to burglary should it fall in to the wrong hands.

For Microsoft, the corresponding challenge is in repeating its assertion that Kinect will not continually watch or listen to users when, in conspiracy theory, it certainly could.

Its at-home body media monitoring ambitions are not yet a reality. The techniques in the Kinect patents have not been announced for inclusion in Xbox One, nor are the entertainment studios yet ready to capitalise on the prospects.

But outfits like Microsoft must now heed users' heightened suspicion before they take any steps nearer to such projects. As one gamer wrote online this week: "Invasion of privacy is so much more important than wanting to play Killer Instinct."

The movie revolves around four people with supernormal

A colorfully beaded handmade Indian doll, created by Cheyenne-Arapaho artist Laketa Pratt of Oklahoma City, received the Grand Award for best of show Friday at the 27th annual Red Earth festival's juried art competition.

“I'm so surprised! I want to hug everybody,” Pratt said as she arranged the large purple grand prize rosette in her booth at the Cox Convention Center. “I can't believe it. This is just my second year to enter.”

“Miss Powwow Nation” priced at $950, was inspired by Pratt's own stint as a 1978 tribal princess.

Pratt, who works full-time in the social services department of the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, said making the intricately costumed dolls is her “side gig,” something she does after work to relax.

“Miss Powwow” was made using wool trade cloth, human hair that was braided and woven into a wig and jewelry, breastplate, belt, purse and moccasins decorated with tiny Czech colored glass beads, brass beads and porcupine quills.

Pratt credits her grandmother's encouragement with her trying her hand at making beaded dance outfits for her daughter and then creating the beaded Indian dolls.

“She was always making things and encouraging me to do things.”

In addition to the Grand Award, which includes $1,500 in cash, Pratt also received a second prize ribbon and $300 in the Cultural Items, with Wholesale Cheap Custom Keychain and promotional key tags.Buy your photo frames moulding and matting photo storage and accessories online today. They reopened Memorial Day weekend for the first time

At their little art gallery near the entrance to Atlantic City's Gardner's Basin, Donna Elias and Les Kammerman get lots of questions and comments about another tenant in the bayside village.

"All day long, cars pull up here and think they're going to eat at Scales," Kammerman said Sunday, pointing over at the spot where Scales Grill and Deck Bar used to stand - until it was torn down about three weeks ago because of damage the historic watering hole suffered in Hurricane Sandy. "Then they get here and say, features many fashionable styles of silver rings wholesale stainless steel ring, 'Oh my God - where is it?'"

Scales was known for more than 20 years as the Flying Cloud, one of the anchors at Gardner's Basin - home of the Atlantic City Aquarium and a few other tourist attractions, plus a collection of small specialty shops.

Peter McDonald, a former Scales manager, now does the same job at Gardner's Basin's Back Bay Ale House - owned by the same people who owned Scales. He said the plan is to put up a temporary deck bar for this summer, with a food truck, a mobile bar and tents.

"Very casual," said McDonald, who also hears lots of Scales questions at Back Bay, which is across a gravel-covered lot from the Scales site. Back Bay's collection of outdoor tables has stayed busy since the weather started warming up, and some customers don't seem to notice at first the empty spot that used to be covered with eaters and drinkers.

"Sometimes they'll sit here for 15 minutes,Financing options for a green card holder without Work Card holder. then look over and say, 'Oh my God - that restaurant is gone,'" McDonald said .

The hurricane in October forced a fair number of changes at Gardner's Basin. The China smart card market in China has conventionally favored local vendors in its production of government. Elias, an artist who has developed a following nationally and beyond, especially for her paintings of lighthouses, had to move out of the two small shops she had last year after they were flooded. She lost a lot of her stock - but lost much more at her former studio and warehouse, just across the bay from Gardner's Basin on Carson Avenue. Her losses there included more than 200 original paintings, work she had done over decades.

Kammerman, her husband and business partner, said they had to move out of that warehouse building entirely. They now have a small office in Brigantine - along with a bigger gallery shop in Gardner's Basin than they used to have. They reopened Memorial Day weekend for the first time after the storm, and business was up about 30 percent over last year, Kammerman said.

Rita Cassidy, who owns the Little Dollhouse by the Sea, was the first to reopen a Gardner's Basin cottage shop this year, her daughter said Sunday. Robin Cassidy said her mom got the doll and accessories shop back in business in time for Mother's Day - after she had to throw out everything that was left in the store during the hurricane.

"The water was at least 2 feet deep. ... We were afraid of mold,This is a Custom passive RFID tag used for presence sensing, so everything is new," said Robin, who,Cordies Cable Organizers Cable Organizer keeps your cords from sliding into the void behind your desk. along with her mom, evacuated their Ventnor home during the storm. "And when we were allowed back on the island, we came here first instead of going home."

Roy Kramer, the Gardner's Basin dockmaster, said water from Sandy's flooding went over the seawall - and probably came within 18 inches or so of ripping a lot of the docks out with it. But the docks survived, as did all the boats that were left in the basin, mostly by dedicated striped-bass fishermen getting ready for a fall season that mostly got wiped out by the storm.

To make sure celebs will show up

If you are Nathalie Dubois, and run the DPA Lounge, a high-end gifting suite at the Cannes Film Festival, the answer is, among other things, reversible jeans by Bleulab, stretch leather fashion by Pascal Piveteau, organic eyelash nourishment from Padina, and nine nights of free lodging at three exclusive resorts in and around Bora Bora.

If you are one of five lucky celebrities, you also get a Jean Richard watch that retails for about $6,000.

"Keanu Reeves and Adrien Brody are coming in to get theirs,Enjoy oil painting reproduction reproductions of famous masterpieces painted by the skilled." Dubois told FOX411 at the DPA Lounge set up inside the insanely luxurious Cartlon Hotel in Cannes, France. The oldest bobble head provider - original handmade custom bobbleheads Head dolls made to look like the photo you provide to us. "And Sharon Stone gets one too if she comes. I haven't figured out who gets the last two."

There will be no shortage of celebs to choose from. Dubois first set up shop in Cannes in 2005. Born in France, but a Los Angeles resident for the past 26 years, ("I told my mother I am more American now than French, she was so upset") Dubois said was the first to bring the Hollywood gifting craze overseas.

To make sure celebs will show up, Dubois hand delivers 500 RSVP cards in April after she has a good idea which stars will be coming in for the festival. She then gathers brands she thinks the rich and famous will want to see, and brands who want to up their celebrity quotient.

Pascal Piveteau, designer of the eponymous stretchy leather line, recently left 20 years running a big time fashion house to start his own line. His first fashion show was this January at Hong Kong Fashion Week. He sees Dubois' suite at Cannes as the perfect opportunity to take his brand recognition to the next level.

"I would be proud to start a relationship with movie stars," he told us. "So I can share my passion with them."

Dubois may have been one of the first to bring the LA gift suite to Cannes, but she's not the last.Guaranteed lowest wholesale pricing on branded promotional USB flash drives wholesale. Gavin Keilly, the owner of GBK PR, set up his gifting suite inside a celebrity pampering palace in Cannes called Hollywood Boudoir. There, along with a five-day all expenses paid vacation at the Sparkling Hill Resort (owned by the king of sparkle, Swarovski), one of a kind Renee by Renee jewelry, and a year’s supply of Gold Collagen, which claims to reduce skin aging one bottle at a time, celebs can also get free fashion and beauty help!

So why do brands like these – we saw about 40-50 at these two suites alone -- pay companies like DPA and GBK big bucks for the opportunity to give their products away to some of the few people rich enough to actually buy them?

"You can't pay Justin Timberlake what it would cost to endorse your $1,000 watch. It would cost what, half a million?" Keilly said. "So if you can gift him your watch, and he is photographed and seen wearing it. That is priceless."

Keilly acknowledged that giving expensive gifts to well-off celebs does sound a little … off. “The rich get richer, right?” he said. To help counteract that, Keilly says he gives 20 percent of all profits to charity.Shop wholesale silicone bracelet Usb Flash Drive from cheap.

"We have given over $2 million since I started the company," he told us. "It's important that we give back."

One of his gifting partners, the nonprofit liver cancer group HOPE, agrees. The founder, Suzanne Lindley, a cancer survivor, wants to spread her message that those with cancer can never give up. One way she thought to do that is to offer celebrities a free Kindle if they send her a photo of themselves with her signature word “HOPE” written in the sand.

The move will place all Calvin Klein brands

About 10 Rodney College girls will be parading the finest ball gowns at a pre-ball fashion fundraiser this Monday at the college hall from 6pm to 9pm.

The gowns are provided by Albany's Golden Gown, which is also sponsor of Miss Universe New Zealand. Rodney College hopes to raise around $2000 towards its school ball on July 6.

"I approached the sponsors Golden Gown, thinking to myself ‘well, they can only say no'," organiser Ingrid McCracken of Wellsford says.

"However, they said yes and what a joy it's been to see the young women and young men who are going to be part of this step up and really improve their self-confidence."

Ingrid says the 10 girls were chosen from 26 who volunteered to model the ball gowns. "The girls who said yes were the ones you did not expect to be into these sorts of things," Ingrid says.

"So it's been very exciting to see them bloom. I told one of my teacher friends to have a box of tissues ready for when she sees her daughter all dressed up."

A male student has volunteered to do the girls' hair and make-up. "Thirty years ago when I attended my school ball, no way a guy would say he'd do the girls' hair and make-up; it shows how things have changed since then," Ingrid says.

She taught at Wellsford School for 16 years before training as a colour and style consultant in 2010. It was her young son, who has Down syndrome, who motivated her to go ahead with her fashion parade.

"And I couldn't have been dealing with a lovelier bunch of people. Golden Gown allowed the girls free range to the rows and rows of dresses," Ingrid says.

Two prizes are offered during the evening. Golden Gown owner and chief designer Ankia Van der Berg will draw a ball gown winner, while another girl will win jewellery designed by Miss Universe New Zealand's jewellery designer.

It just shows you how fragile a streak

Jeremy Guthrie’s 18-game unbeaten streak ended with a powerful display from the middle of the Los Angeles Angels’ previously underachieving lineup.

The Kansas City Royals right-hander gave up solo home runs to Albert Pujols, Howie Kendrick, Josh Hamilton and Mike Trout in a 6-2 loss Tuesday night. It was Guthrie’s first defeat since Aug. 3 last year, when the Texas Rangers beat him 5-3 at Kansas City.

“The streak was because of 25 guys that played well behind me every time I was on the mound, and they really picked me up. That’s how a streak like that happens,” Guthrie said. “Tonight they tried to battle for me, and I couldn’t get any momentum on our side. It was one of those nights where I didn’t have a good feel and wasn’t able to execute pitches.”

Guthrie (5-1) yielded five runs and 11 hits over seven innings. He held the franchise record for consecutive starts without a loss while winning his previous 10 decisions.

“It just shows you how fragile a streak like that is and how impressive it is,” said Royals designated hitter Billy Butler, who homered and drove in both runs against Jason Vargas.

Butler, who had five hits and five RBIs in a series-opening win Monday, opened the scoring with an RBI double in the fourth. But the Angels responded with two runs in the bottom half, as Pujols launched his sixth homer over the double-decker bullpen in left field leading off the inning and Kendrick hit his sixth of the season with two outs.

Hamilton, who batted .212 with 11 RBIs in his first 38 games with the Angels after signing a five-year, $125 million contract in December, drove Guthrie’s first pitch to him in the sixth far beyond the trees in center field with two outs to increase the lead to 4-2.

Trout ended the barrage in the seventh with his seventh of the season, a towering drive over both bullpens. It was the first time in Guthrie’s 10-year career that he allowed four homers in a game.

Vargas gave up five hits in seven-plus innings and struck out seven.

“He mixes speeds well,This paper describes wireless communications study for IC card. locates, and he just knows how to pitch,” Butler said. “Over the years he’s gotten better and better. He knows what he has, knows his stuff and basically knows how to approach hitters. He’s a lefty and he throws in the upper 80s , so you have to make him come to you and bring the ball up.This is a basic RFID tag used for presence sensing. That’s easier said than done.”

Trout made it 3-1 in the fifth with a sacrifice fly after the Angels put runners at the corners on singles by J.B. Shuck and Erick Aybar, who returned to the lineup after missing four games because of tightness in his right hamstring.

which is represented by a green icon

Breathe in energy and positivity. Breathe out distractions and bad feelings. Envision a calm place and let yourself go there.

Who are you kidding? You're probably racing to or from work along with hundreds of other people and the anxiety level you feel is indescribably high. You may want to try to meditate or center yourself in stressful situations like these,Museum Quality handmade oil painting reproduction of famous artists.including single or stacked washer extractor, but never actually remember to do it.

This week, I tested two sensors that might help: the $99 HeartMath Inner Balance Sensor for iOS and $119 Tinke by Zensorium. Each device plugs into Apple's iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, and digitally monitors heart rate and breathing patterns, offering on-screen coaching to get you into a calmer zone.

While a traditional heart monitor often just spits out a number, both the HeartMath Inner Balance and Tinke provide feedback as you use them. People who meditate regularly but don't know whether or not their heart and breathing are reacting to their meditations will get some specific answers with these devices and apps. Both of these free apps offer ways to save results and share them via email or social networks. Using them taught me how to lower my heart rate and steady my breathing.

The HeartMath sensor is the company's first mobile device after years of working only on computers. One end clips to an earlobe, resembling a Bluetooth headset from afar, and uses an infrared sensor to see blood flowing through the skin and measure heart-rate variability. The other end attaches to an iOS device.

The company suggests spending 10 to 15 minutes with this app in the morning to prepare for the day and 10 to 15 minutes at night to get settled before sleeping. It measures what HeartMath calls coherence—an algorithm applied to heart-rate variability, which the company says can reflect emotional states and stress levels.manufacturer and supplier of industrial washing machine.

In stressful situations, I watched the screen register my low coherence level with a red icon, but I gradually learned how to get into the zone of high coherence, which is represented by a green icon.

I tried this for several days in the morning and at night, and found myself looking forward to my time with the app. I also tried it at different times of the day, including after a quick walk at lunch and while riding the subway home.

The first time you use HeartMath, helpful slides walk you through how the product works. You can switch between several views to focus on during a session: a flower pulsing in and out with your breaths; a shade that lifts and lowers as you breathe; a photo of a waterfall, which you can change to an image you'd like to stare at; or a statistical screen showing heart-rate variance, coherence over time, pulse and a spectrum analysis of heart rhythms. Relevant coaching phrases pop up to encourage you. Some included, "Breathe through the heart area" and "Excellent! You're in high coherence!"

During setup, I was never asked for my gender or age, but a company spokeswoman said it plans to add these personalized levels later this year.Full color plastic card printing and manufacturing services. Early next year, the company plans an Android version and a wireless version of the sensor.

The Tinké (pronounced "tink") by Singapore-based Zensorium is a tiny sensor that comes in white, gray, pink or blue. After downloading its app, I was invited to use it as a guest, or by creating a new account. I tried guest mode and later created my own account, where session scores were saved. Even as a guest, I was prompted to enter my age and gender for a more accurate reading.

I plugged the sensor into my iPad, which made its infrared light glow. On-screen instructions told me to place my thumb over the light, and I waited while Tinké measured either my Zen Index or Vita Index. The Zen Index uses heart-rate variability to quantify stress levels in a simplified manner, according to the company. The Vita Index is a cardio-respiratory score that looks at heart rate, blood-oxygen level and respiratory rate.

I started with testing my Zen Index, which I did by breathing in time with one of five circle patterns that appeared on the screen, each pulsing at different paces. In just a few minutes, my score out of 99 points was displayed: "Calm,Choose the right USB flash drives wholesale in an array of colors, 57/99 points. Doing well. Keep calm and carry on practicing your breathing to improve." When I tested my Vita Index, my score said: "Fresh, 84/99 points. Looking good! Your heart rate, respiratory rate and blood oxygen level are within normal ranges. Stay motivated!"

Fun factoids appeared on the screen while I used the Tinké sensor. One said, "Did you know? Your right lung takes in more air than your left." Another said, "Eating fish helps lower your risk of depression."

The way Hinchcliffe and series officials see it

When he’s not fine-tuning the No. 27 car for team owner Michael Andretti, he’s making promotional appearances for sponsors or trying to sell the sport to non-IndyCar fans. And if he’s not busy doing those things or goofing around with friends and colleagues in Gasoline Alley, Hinchcliffe can almost certainly be found patrolling the Internet as the self-appointed Mayor of Hinchtown.

Somehow, Hinchcliffe has found time to do all of it, still win races and become one of the most popular drivers on the circuit.

“He’s a dream for a sponsor because he’s great out of the car and he’s great in the car, too,” Andretti said Sunday, the second day of Indianapolis 500 practice. “James has a way of turning it (the racing focus) off, and then turning it back on, which is a real talent.”

The Oakville, Ont., is nothing like the feisty rivals that dominated the sport in its glory days and he doesn’t have the same personality of his team owner, who admittedly came across as standoffish during his career because he was so focused on driving cars.

Instead, the 26-year-old has embraced social media and enjoys life. His unusual list of includes flannel shirts, maple syrup and dog sled racing.

Over the winter, Hinchcliffe and a few other drivers carved out time to dress in fire suits and cut a series of humorous online videos at the IndyCar office. The way Hinchcliffe and series officials see it, there’s no such thing as overexposure.

“When you have someone that has the talent, results, personality and understands the business side of IndyCar racing as well as engaging fans, you have a near perfect combination that allows a driver to transcend outside of motorsports,” IndyCar vice-president of marketing Kasey Coler said.

But the attraction goes far deeper than Hinchcliffe’s engaging personality.

A year ago when Hinchcliffe got his big break, replacing Danica Patrick as the driver of the No. 27 car, he immediately started cracking jokes about becoming the first Go Daddy guy. Turns out, he’s just the big man on the IndyCar series this year with two wins in four races — one more win than Patrick had in her IndyCar career. He’s currently fourth in points,You can design your ownfigurine or select one of our pose. trailing leader Takuma Sato of Japan by 24.

What’s different for Hinchcliffe this season? Not much.

“I knew there was always going to be a big gap stepping into the Go Daddy car and following Danica,” Hinchcliffe said. “But I think it was important to make this ride our own and create our own identify, and I think we’ve done that.construction provides reliable operation and guarantees your washer extractor.”

His rapid ascension has been remarkable.

Three years ago, Hinchcliffe came to Indianapolis as a rising star in the Firestone Indy Lights series. A few days after competing in the Freedom 100, he returned to the 2.5-mile oval to help call the better-known Indianapolis 500 on the radio — as an analyst.

By 2011, Hinchcliffe’s exuberant personality helped him land a full-time gig with the once heavyweight team of Newman-Haas Racing. The IndyCar rookie produced three fourth-place finishes and seven top-10s in 16 starts that season, then lost his job when Newman-Haas ceased operations.

Andretti needed a personable driver with oodles of talent to replace Patrick and keep the sponsors happy, but he also wanted somebody who would fit in with an already established team.

Hinchcliffe was the perfect choice, and it showed. Ryan Hunter-Reay wound up winning year’s points title and this year’s second race while Hinchcliffe won the season-opener at St. Petersburg and last weekend’s race at Brazil. Andretti’s son, Marco, also is coming to Indy with the best start of his career.

“He is just putting it all together, same as me,” Marco Andretti said. “You could say it’s a team thing because it started last year.”

But Hinchcliffe is not satisfied.

After qualifying second for last year’s 500, a bad pit stop forced him to settle for a sixth-place finish.Six panel tracking system delivers more energy from skystream.

He’s come back as this year as one of the hottest drivers in the series and with a team that has dominated the first two months of the season.

It happened again Sunday when the Andretti drivers nearly swept the top five spots on the practice speed chart.

“It never really shuts off,” Hunter-Reay said. “It’s fun and he brings out more in me. It’s a good atmosphere within the team,Our premium collection of quality custom keychain generously offers affordability. but he’s fun to work with and as much as he is great in front of the camera, he’s got a lot of obligations. What are we going to do to bring this message forward?

After selling his Dallas oil and gas company and moving to Europe, Robert Edsel found himself in the art-drenched Italian city of Florence. Standing on the city's famous medieval covered bridge _ the Ponte Vecchio _ he began to contemplate how so many famous sites and works of art in Europe survived the destruction of World War II.

With the answer, Edsel, the businessman who had developed a love for art, found a mission: Honoring and continuing the work the Monuments Men, a group from Western Allied countries made up mostly of those with an art expertise who worked with the military to protect cultural treasures as battles were waged and,Find the perfect luggage tag and you'll always find your luggage! in the years after the war, returned works of art to their rightful owners.

His work over the years _ from founding the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art in 2007 after his return to Dallas to writing three books, including, "Saving Italy," released this week _ has helped bring their story out of scholarly circles and to the public's attention. That recognition is set to skyrocket in December with the premiere of a movie based on Edsel's book, "The Monuments Men," directed by and starring George Clooney.

"I think what they were involved in was pretty epic: Every work of art somewhere on the road during World War II,Buy collectible bobbleheads from Star Wars, then finding these things and getting them back. I think they've earned the right to be recognized by name," said Edsel, 56.

Clarissa Post, a Sotheby's art expert,Six panel tracking system delivers more energy from skystream. said Edsel's vision always included bringing the story to a wider audience.

"It was always: Let's think big here. What are we going to do to bring this message forward? Because if we can bring this message forward to a wider audience, we can then really do something to honor these people who were involved," said Post, who started her career at the auction house researching the provenance of works, especially those that might have been involved in the art theft by the Nazis.

After his move to Europe in 1996, Edsel's musings started to put things in motion. By 2001, he had returned to the U.S. and focused more on the story of the roughly 345 men and women from 13 countries who were part of the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives section. The group was proposed by a commission established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943 to promote the preservation of cultural properties during war.

"I had friends asking me what I was working on and I'd say, `The only thing I'm really interested in is this whole story about World War II and what happened to all of the art.Our premium collection of quality custom keychain generously offers affordability.' And lunch after lunch and dinner after dinner, I never had anybody stop me and said they that they knew about it," Edsel said.

He tracked down Lynn Nicholas, author of "The Rape of Europa," which details the Nazi plunder of art and the efforts by the Western Allies to save it, telling her he wanted to make a documentary on her book. Learning filmmakers already were working on it, he became a co-producer. He started compiling photographs to tell the story of the Monuments Men, which eventually became his first book: "Rescuing Da Vinci."

He interviewed Monuments Men and got access to letters written by those who had died.

"I felt that the beating heart of the story was these letters that the Monuments Men wrote home during the war," he said.

The resulting book, "The Monuments Men," chronicles the experiences of members in northern Europe, including Harry Ettlinger, now 87.

Ettlinger, who lives in New Jersey, fled Nazi Germany with his family the day after his bar mitzvah in 1938 and returned to Europe in 1945 with the U.S. Army. Ettlinger, fluent in German, volunteered to be a Monuments Man. His first assignment was to help interview Adolf Hitler's personal photographer and later went on to help return works of art tucked away in salt mines.

He said that the group's work earned respect from the German people.

"They didn't quite understand how you could come along and give things back," he said, adding, "It gave you a good feeling."

Over the years, Edsel's foundation also has worked to continue the mission of the Monuments Men, which had members overseeing the restitution of stolen works of art for up to six years after the war ended. His foundation, for instance, has been contacted by those who realized something taken as a souvenir during WWII is a historical artifact and has helped with the repatriation of items, including the return to Germany of an album of photographs of artwork Hitler planned for his "Fuhrermuseum."

which in turn depresses the auction price for allowances

Just two years after lawmakers came close to pulling New Hampshire out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the Legislature is on track to sign off on a 45 percent reduction in the nine-state region’s cap on carbon dioxide emissions.

But that doesn’t mean Republicans who opposed RGGI are any happier now with the cap-and-trade program. Sen. Russell Prescott, a Kingston Republican and chairman of the Senate committee, said he’s still concerned RGGI limits New Hampshire’s flexibility and that the state doesn’t have an easy way to exit the program.

“Going through this process, I kept an open mind as long as I could and tried to see if the benefits outweigh the difficulties that I have with RGGI,” Prescott said yesterday. “And coming to those two points, I think that it’s the wrong choice for me to vote for the expansion of this program.”

He voted against the bill, along with Senate Majority Leader Jeb Bradley, a Wolfeboro Republican. It was supported by the committee’s two Democrats, Sen. Martha Fuller Clark of Portsmouth and Sen.Six panel tracking system delivers more energy from skystream. Jeff Woodburn of Dalton, as well as Republican Sen. Bob Odell of Lempster.

RGGI is a cap-and-trade system with nine participating states: the six states in New England plus Delaware, Maryland and New York. Power plants in those states must buy “allowances” for each ton of carbon dioxide they emit, with the proceeds from auctions of allowances going to the states for energy efficiency and other projects.Industrial roller & cylinder flatwork ironer designed for safety,

In 2011, the Republican-controlled Legislature tried to remove New Hampshire from the program, saying it drives up costs for businesses and residents.Buy collectible bobbleheads from Star Wars, But then-Gov. John Lynch, a Democrat, vetoed the bill, and four Republicans joined all five Democrats then serving in the state Senate to sustain his veto.

RGGI caps carbon dioxide emissions in the region at 165 million tons a year. But that number is higher than the actual level of emissions in the region, which in turn depresses the auction price for allowances.

Mike Fitzgerald, administrator of the technical services bureau at the Department of Environmental Services, said the decline in emissions has resulted from a weak economy, energy efficiency improvements and the growing use of natural gas, among other things.

“In any case, emissions in the region have dropped rather radically,” Fitzgerald said. “So lowering this cap is really about coming to what actual emissions are, which was always the intent of RGGI.”

In February, the RGGI states announced they would lower the cap to 91 million tons in 2014. From 2015 to 2020, the cap would drop an additional 2.5 percent a year.

All nine states are in the process of implementing that change in their individual laws and rules, Fitzgerald said. The bill headed to the Senate floor would make the necessary changes for New Hampshire.

If it didn’t pass, Fitzgerald said, the state would be in a sort of limbo, with its laws out of step with the other RGGI states’. Those other states could decide to exclude New Hampshire from allowance auctions, he said, in a sense kicking it out of the program.

Allowance prices are expected to rise with the lower cap, which means higher costs for ratepayers, too. But in New Hampshire, utility customers will have a cushion thanks to a law passed by the Legislature last year that sends auction proceeds above the level of $1 per allowance back to ratepayers in the form of rebates. The rest of the money goes to energy efficiency projects.

In 2011, the average household paid 43 cents more each month for electricity because of RGGI, according to the program. In 2014,Find the perfect luggage tag and you'll always find your luggage! assuming the cap drops to 91 million tons, DES and the Public Utilities Commission predict New Hampshire ratepayers will be paying an average of 56 cents more a month.

“Whether New Hampshire is in or out of RGGI, the RGGI costs are embedded in the wholesale price of electricity. So if RGGI is still implemented in all the states around us, we would still have that cost,” Fitzgerald said. “But we would have no revenue from the sale of allowances,Our premium collection of quality custom keychain generously offers affordability. because we would have no allowances.”

Thousands of spectators cheered and clapped

Jasmine Close, a college student from Virginia visiting Detroit for the first time, got a spectacular, up close look this afternoon at the city’s remarkable cultural diversity while standing on a curb on Vernor Avenue, watching the annual Cinco de Mayo parade.

Thousands of spectators cheered and clapped as more than 70 floats, marching bands, Latino bands and dance teams made their way through the Vernor and Springwells Business Improvement District in southwestern Detroit, home to a large Hispanic population. About 6.8% of Detroit’s population is Hispanic.

Children waved the Mexican flag and scrambled to grab green and red beads tossed from the floats. Vendors sold tacos and tamales. Mothers pushed strollers decked out with red streamers. Babies wore sombreros. There are a large number of custom bobbleheads available.

“I’ve never been to an event like this,” said Close, 19. “I love it that these people are so proud of their culture.”

Her friend, John Ellis, 22, a native Detroiter, said he brought her to the parade to show her one of the city’s most celebrated events.

“Detroit is a hardworking city,” he said. “When we think of the city, we think of Motown. But its more than that. It’s a very cultural city, and that’s what I like about it.”

Twelve-year-old Xalma Palomino was dressed in a vivid yellow dress, crisscrossed with multicolored ribbons, a Nuevo Leon, brought by her family from Mexico last year. Her sister and cousins wore traditional Mexican garb as well, including her cousin Bryan Anaya, 10, who had on a charro,Industrial roller & cylinder flatwork ironer designed for safety, a suit worn by traditional Mexican cowboys.

“It’s a way of honoring my culture,” said Xalma, who lives in southwestern Detroit. “I’ve been coming to this parade since I was a little girl. It is a family tradition.”

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the 1862 Battle of Puebla, where a Mexican army was able to overcome a well-armed French force during the Franco-Mexican war. In the U.S. it is widely celebrated as a way to honor Mexican culture and heritage.

The parade drew between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors, according to Gloria Rocha, vice president of the Mexican Patriotic Committee of Metro Detroit, a cosponsor of the event. “The weather was cooperating,” she said.

The parade featured businesses, schools, labor unions,A folding machine is a machine used primarily for the folding of paper. and politicians from around the region. General Motors workers carried GM flags and tossed out candy. The National Association of Hispanic Nurses had a car decorated in the colors of the Mexican flag. Mayoral candidates, including Benny Napoleon, Mike Duggan and Fred Durhal, walked the route.

Randy Andes sat on a curb, smoking a cigarette, as Wayne State University students from Sigma Lambda Beta, a Latino based fraternity,This practical Silicone ear cap from Sporti is perfect for swimmers. marched past, waving a banner that read, “ Culture is Pride, Pride is Success.”

“I was born and raised right here in southwest Detroit,” said Andes, 57, a retired furniture mover. “And this is the first time I’ve been to this parade. A friend brought me, and I’m glad I came. I think it’s beautiful.Modern dry cleaning machine can dramatically reduce exposures,”

North Central alumni take long route to prom

When Dave Snyder and Barbara Kolbet were seniors at North Central High School in 1971, she turned him down for a date to the prom.

She wanted to be faithful to an older guy she was dating even if it meant missing a major end-of-high-school event. Her boyfriend, who later became her husband, didn’t want to go; “he’d been there, done that,” she said.

Forty-two years later, Snyder and Kolbet are newlyweds, and on Saturday the two were crowned honorary king and queen with smiles and tears as they finally attended North Central’s senior prom.

“We wanted to relive our youth,” she said.

Snyder and Kolbet attended sixth grade through high school together, never dating but often in the same classes.Industrial roller & cylinder flatwork ironer designed for safety, The reason he’d asked her to the prom was because “she was very good-looking and fun and friendly,” he said.

After high school, Snyder and Kolbet parted ways. He married a “few” times. She had two children, Dan and Kim, with Gary Kolbet, who died in 1988.

About two years ago, Kolbet attended a 40th reunion planning meeting, and in walked Snyder, who had just moved back from Arizona.

“I was a little hurt because he didn’t recognize me right away,” she said. “I knew him the minute he walked in the door. He was still tall, dark and handsome.”

At the reunion, the two reconnected. “We talked through the whole evening, and the next morning he called me,There are a large number of custom bobbleheads available.” she said. “We’ve been together ever since.”

On March 7, Snyder and Kolbet had a commitment ceremony in front of the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign joined by about 15 of their friends.

“We’re really happy for her and Dave; he’s a great guy and they are so good together,” said Dan Kolbet. “It seems like it was something that was meant to be, and a long time coming.”

Sometime last year, “we were sort of kidding around one day and I said: ‘You still owe me a prom,’” Barbara Kolbet recalled.

After Christmas, she called North Central and asked if there was any possibility they could attend. Assistant Principal Steve Fisk told her yes,You Can Buy Various High Quality industrial washing machine Products. provided they passed a background check. They did.

“I think it’s great,” Fisk said. “We’re excited.”

“I think it’s adorable,” said Jacque Bradley, a senior and member of the high school’s prom committee. “I think it’s pretty cool that NC is giving them this chance.”

Kolbet wore a tea-length mocha dress with a silk skirt, crocheted bodice and jacket. Her pearl wrist corsage was made with three white and two dark purple roses and accents of purple beads, feathers, rhinestones and purple ribbons.

Snyder wore a blue suit and white shirt with a tie. His boutonniere had a white rose with a smaller purple flower.

Like many prom couples, the whole evening was carefully scripted. Before the dance, they went to dinner at Twigs and stopped at the homes of Barbara’s son and daughter for pictures.

“It’s a bit of a role reversal, I guess.Six panel tracking system delivers more energy from skystream. It’s sort of a milestone, getting your picture taken with your prom date,” Dan Kolbet said. “But back then they had to take the film in and wait for it to be developed. Now, it will be on Facebook in like three minutes.”

At Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, where North Central held its prom, the couple took to the dance floor, swaying to a song from “The Lion King,” Chicago’s “Color My World” from 1971 and their current favorite song, Lady Antebellum’s “This Kiss.”

“I’m a graduate of the same school. So is my sister,” Dan Kolbet said. “We both got to go to the prom. It’s a sweet thing to be able to recreate that teen love thing later in life.”

The students cheered when they heard the couple’s love story.

“It’s a great love story,” Fisk said. “It’s like the ones you see in the movies and don’t think are real.Metal key USB flash drives wholesale made of stainless steel in the classical shape of a metal key.”
