CID officers in the town recovered jewellery which they believe may have been stolen in a number of burglaries across Bridlington and North Yorkshire over the last year.

Detectives are now urging those who may have been the victim of a burglary to view the haul at Bridlington Police Station in a bid to return items they believe may have been stolen.

A 26-year-old Flamborough woman was arrested on Thursday December 6, which saw a complex investigation launched and a second person arrested, a 38-year-old Bridlington man, on Sunday December 9.

Further jewellery was recovered - including what police believe to be gold links belonging to Bridlington’s civic chains. The mayor has been updated.

Amongst the items recovered that police would like to return are a selection of fine jewellery,hypo-allergenic stainless stainless steel bracelet includes classic and modern styles in bracelets, watches, earrings, a Pandora chain, costume jewellery, cuff links, rings and sentimental items.

“It is paramount any additional victims come forward before the alleged offender is summoned to court.

“It has been known for a victim of a burglary not to notice anything missing until a significant time had passed and then notice something was missing.

A lot of the items recovered are of sentimental value and I really would like to return them to the rightful owners, and if applicable charge the offenders with the crime, before they appear at court.”
