The Kuala Terengganu-born has two of the best results

EACH edition of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) begins with questions of whether the race's biggest contingent, the locals, will be up to the mark but the 18th edition, that begins tomorrow, will see the country's top exports Anuar Manan and Adiq Husainie Othman ready to stand up and be counted.

Anuar, 26, has bolstered his confidence with an eagerness that was missing in his last two outings and even looks fitter than he was in the past two seasons which saw him enter a barren spell without a victory to show in UCI races.FeaturesWith our Home energy monitor you can see in REAL.

Anuar turned up at the launch of his new Synergy-Baku Cycling Project team at Dataran Lang in Langkawi yesterday having shed four kilogrammes and with a healthy amount of racing and training in Australia leading up to the race.

"We did five races in Australia and I had the chance to race with Rico (Rogers). Although we were on different teams (Anuar trained with the national track squad and raced in national team colours), we did take the chance to practice our lead-outs.

"Sometimes I led him out for the bunch sprints and other times we switched duties," said Anuar,We are always offering best quality tungsten jewelry the affordable price. who surprised many by signing with the newly-formed outfit from Azerbaijan just a month ago after almost being left without a team for the new season.

This time he is hoping his partnership with New Zealander Rogers will bear fruit.

"We have the riders who will be going for the general classification, but for Rico and myself, we've been fully focused on the bunch sprints.

"Of course I've looked at the start list and we have some seriously big names there like Theo Bos, Greame Brown, Andrea Guardini and Taiji Nishitani there, but we can't go into it thinking we're already beaten," said Anuar.

"We'll have to pull off some surprises this time and we're going to work on that in every flat stage."

The hunger of the local cycling community to see one of their own making a serious attempt at the general classification is also one that could be satiated by the 22-year-old Adiq Husainie.

Adiq Husainie makes his fourth appearance in LTdL in his second season with China's Champion System team wanting to continue on the improvement he has marked in every edition since he made his debut as a 19-year-old in 2010 with the Drapac Cycling team.

"Each year I've bettered my results from the previous year and I'm just entering this race with the aim to improve on my 19th position in the general classification last year which was my best performance yet," said Adiq Husainie.

"I have to take it a step at a time and this year I just want to better last year's result. That would mean a top 15 target which is achievable."

There will be 15 Malaysians lining up in tomorrow's start in a flat 162.7-kilometre Stage One from Kangar to Kulim, where an expected bunch sprint finish should provide Anuar with his first opportunity to put to rest his dismal performances in the past two editions.
