actress has created a five-piece collection for Seven For All Mankind
and spoke about her links to jewellery while promoting the range in
Dallas.
Nikki revealed where her talent for accessories design comes from, naming her great-grandmother, Fayette Mattlin, who was a Los Angeles fine jewellery designer, as her inspiration.
“I only have one piece from her but it all trickled down because growing up I watched all of the glamorous women in my life wearing Fayette’s jewellery,” Nikki told WWD. “I love jewellery, and the idea of having something you’ve created become tangible is really exciting.”
Her latest jewellery collection follows the Twilight star's debut into accessory design which began last year with Mattlin Era, a range sold exclusively on the GlamBoutique website.
Mattlin references the maiden name of her grandmother, Laurie Morgenstern, a ceramic artist whose work inspired some of the pieces.

"I’ve been trying to do it all,” she admitted. “I’ve discovered on this journey in the entertainment industry that, especially as a girl, woman… it’s really important to try to create your own opportunities. There’s a lot of 'no’s, not right now' or 'you’re not good enough', and it’s really important to take that and find it empowering somehow and try to do something else.”
The 25-year-old shared her latest interest, which is bee farming.
Nikki's brother Nathan introduced her to bees, and as a result she has dedicated a piece from the Seven For All Mankind collection to him.
The honeycombed Humility pendant is just one of the personal pieces Nikki has put her design stamp on.
“My brother and I have matching tattoos on our arms,” she explained. “It says ‘Humility is strength,’ in Portuguese and Italian because my genius brother taught English in both Italy and Brazil.”
