There was plenty of wearin’ – and spendin’ – o’ the green at Shipshewana on the Road on Sunday at the Porter County Expo Center.

The twice-yearly shopping extravaganza found vendors and their customers celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in style, as many were decked out in green garb and hawking green-colored products.

Kris Kempf, of Kris Kountry Kitchen, sold out of her shamrock sugar cookies early in the day, but Mac McNally, of the Wakarusa Dime Store, still had green and white Luck of the Irish jumbo jelly beans for sale.Score favorite new and used bobbleheads at great values.

“They are lime green and pineapple with a gold foil-covered chocolate coin in the bag,” said McNally.

Both McNally and his wife, Deb, wore shiny green beads around their necks in honor of the holiday.

McNally said the blue and gold Fighting Irish jelly beans also were a favorite.

“There’s a lot of Notre Dame fans out there,” McNally said.

A variety of merchandise, including homemade breads, cookies and snacks, jewelry, purses, clothing, home decor, and cleaning products and implements, was on display at 115 vendor booths.
