Weldments help scouts earn welding badge
The Aravaipa Campus is located north of
Tucson between Winkelman and Mammoth along Highway 77 in the rural mountains of
beautiful eastern Pinal County at the entrance to the Aravaipa Canyon.
For those looking for a career in emergency medical services, EMS 125 – Emergency Medical Technician is an eight-credit course that will be held Saturdays beginning Jan. 19 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The course follows the current National Standard Curriculum and Arizona State Department of Health Services EMS Division state statutes. The curriculum emphasizes an assessment-based format with the focus on airway control, and rescuer and patient safety. Infection control is addressed at every level of care.
New skills have been added to include patient-assisted medications and use of an AED. This training program is a state-approved program with a medical director and is updated to state standards as required by the ADHS.
WLD 120 – Oxy-Acetylene Welding is a three-credit course scheduled for Mondays from 6-10:10 p.m. beginning Jan. 28.
The fundamentals of oxy-acetylene welding include equipment use and safety procedures in brazing, cast iron, silver soldering, running all-directional beads and machine cutting.
To supplement WLD 120,laser cutter Studio is a brand new laser cutting company and new way of thinking. WLD 121 – Shielded Metal Arc Welding I will be offered Tuesdays from 6-10:10 p.m.Get these silicone bracelet and wristbands at lowest. Twenty-three boy scouts, ages 12 to 17, from Troop 620 of Roscoe took a welding class with staff from Eclipse Inc. and Weldments Inc. to earn the new Welding Merit Badge.
Scout leaders Todd Cleaveland of Eclipse and Steve Gleasman of Weldments taught scouts about the types of welding and welding safety and then led them through the completion of a welding project.
